: It’s not a huge drop in a menstruating  female, but you can and some iron to try and help.  Also check urine and stool for other possible sources of bleeding.  Sometimes we do get viruses that don’t have a lot of symptoms but leave us feeling exhausted. Sometimes for months.  Classically I would see this in mono or EBV but covid can do it as well.  Eat well, get good sleep and follow up with doc

You may need: a "medical D and C" ( the use of hormones to induce a period aiming to release a large amount of "lining" of your womb) CONSULT with your GYN..BTW IRON deficiency can CAUSE heavy periods!!!! You might take Iron supplements for a few months....

Bleeding: If hb has dropped by one gram over two weeks, that means that you have lost about 300-500 ml of blood or more.  It may be due to external bleeding e., g., menstrual bleed or internal, such as a bleeding peptic ulcer.  If you have appreciable drop in hb over two weeks, see your doctor asap.

Below 10 is cause : For concern.  It depends on how fast it drops and what the cause may be.  Hb below 10 is generally considered anemia and should be invesigated for cause and treated accordingly.  If the drop in hb occurs over months a person may be asymptomatic with hb as low as 5.

Your level is in the reference range and this rules out diabetes as the cause of your erectile dysfunction. Two causes that are often missed by physicians are prolactinoma ; hemochromatosis. Continue the workup, good luck.

Low ferritin: Low ferritin  eventually leads to iron deficiency anemia.Your current hemoglobin is within normal range for a young woman. When one is anemic, hgb loses ability to carry oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body. In this country, iron deficiency in young women is usually from monthly menstrual blood loss and not dietary issues. Taking iron supplements correct or prevent iron deficiency anemia

Recheck/follow up: You may have bled considerable in order for Hb to drop by 3 Gms. There is a small chance it was a lab error. Either way you should obtain a repeat Hemoglobin check  along with a CBC and then share your results with us or with your gynecologist, asking for further advice.

See doctor: Please contact the doctor who ordered the blood test. Start taking oral iron and vitamin supplementation. It is important to determine why did your hemoglobin drop this much. While Hb of 6.8 does not pose immediate danger to the baby, continued decline in your hemoglobin threatens your and your baby's health. See your doctor immediately.

Yes: You're seriously sick. You're iron deficient and presumably bleeding from somewhere -- a stomach ulcer or gut cancer until proved otherwise. And if you are also short of breath / dyspneic at this hemoglobin, you have lung or heart disease as well. Please get this addressed.
