Drinking and diarrhea: Diarrhea can be caused ethanol ingestion.Consumption of alcohol affects the body's capability to absorb water -  after a heavy drinking session. The alcohol is absorbed in the intestines -the intestinal cells absorb it, the toxicity causes these cells to lose their ability to absorb water. This leads to an outpouring of fluid from the intestinal lining. Suggest to cut down.

Need to examine: Drinking more water would not cause diarrhea. The two events are likely coincidental. If you have had unintended weight loss, it is imperative that you consult a physician. 
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex. 
Get HPV vaccine, if you are under 27 years of age.

"Brain Freeze"?: Brain freeze from ingesting ice cold water &amp; foods is common &amp; multifactorial, as are headaches. Such pain can originate from the skin, fat, muscle, blood vessels or within the cranium from great venous sinuses, their tributaries, the dura &amp; its arteries, the falx cerebri, &amp; large arteries at base of the brain (all of which have pain fibers). Could try room temperature water &amp; assess response.

Myth: There is no adverse effect to the kidneys by drinking water at night other than perhaps having to get out of bed to urinate more often. The kidneys do not need to 'take a rest' like other parts of our body.

Giving too much water (which is easy to do) can cause serious electrolyte disturbances, less nutritional intake, and more. Additionally, breast milk protects against diarrheal illnesses, ear infections and more.

When they ask for it: Breast milk or formula are balanced nutrition that provides the proper balance of fluids to nutrients for infants. Water supplements are not necessary. It can be offered, but excess water just means more wet diapers. I find letting grandma or friends offer an ounce or two occasionally lets them participate in infant nurturing, which is socially a good idea. But it is not necessary.
