Have chicjkenpox?: Then take homeopathic rhus tox to reduce itching and improve scabbing over. Stay away from the public til all lesions are scabbed over. It is contagious in the first two days before one breaks out and until all the lesions are scabbed over  (visible lesions)...Sometimes ones in the groin area can stay moist for a day or two longer than all the others. Fluids to stay hydrated.

Call your doc: that is part of the doc's fee to manage you post op until you are recovered, it is common for pain meds to cause nausea you may need a differnet one or anti-nausea meds so call the doc who did your surgery NOW

Salt intake: You may be getting too much salt in your diet. Try drinking more water (yes, more water), and reduce not only the salt you put on food but also the salt in your foods. Avoid all restaurant food.

can i take ibuprofen pm while on effexor?  its my first day. also can i rake naproxen and tylenol (acetaminophen) with effexor?separately,just when needed?

First day of what?: You list back pain and pain 'shooting down the leg' as problems and say it's your 'first day of...' menses? That said, Tylenol (acetaminophen) is safest to take with Effexor. Discuss with your pcp or GYN to determine cause of pain and what they would recommend. I hope this helps. Best wishes.

Referral: See your dr or A doctor, get a referral to a PAIN specialist.  They will be more comfortable dealing with your history and problem, as they manage more difficult pain cases.  It may be expensive and you may have to pay out of pocket but that is the path to relief.  Most doctors would be uncomfortable managing your case.

This : This is a great question.  Sometimes patients reach a an unorthodox solution to a difficult problem, and as you are experiencing, the dedicated doctor who help you leaves.

The first thing you could suggest is for your current psychiatrist to speak with your former psychiatrist.  Perhaps they can come to a mutual understanding about continuing the medications that have helped you.

If that doesn't work, you should contact either the american psychiatric association or the utah psychiatric society for a list of psychopharmacologists in your area.  If there is no one close by, it could be worthwhile for you to travel to a university for a specialized consultation in coordination with a local psychiatrist.  The university of arizona and ucla both have great psychiatry departments.  In addition, steven stahl, a pre-eminent psychopharmacologist, is based in california and might be a good person to go to for a consultation.
