Habit or : It could be a habit you developed over time.  If this is the case, a dentist can make an appliance to try to stop the habit. It could also be a neurological problem so for this i would recommend a neurologist and i would probably start there and rule out the medical  end of things.  Don't wait too long.

The ability to: Protrude ones tongue is a natural or normal phenomenon and doesn't indicate anything is wrong.  The tongue is a muscle and can vary in thickness and length.  Some people are able to protrude their tongues more than others which some are unablegto protrude at all (tongue-tied) due to the lingual frenum attachment placement which can be surgically corrected.

Have you had an MRI?: You should have a full neuro workup, including MRI of the spine and brain to rule out ms and other neuro lesions. Also consider emg. See a neurologist for a full workup. Hope that helps.

ive been under severe chronic stress from trauma. dr. said i have gad. couple days after taking one antidepressant, had an involuntary eye roll, tongue protrusion, involuntary grimacing, raising eyebrows, one time. could this be tardive dyskinesia?

: .You don't mention what the medication was. Tardive dyskinesia takes at least a few months to develop as a side effect. Your symptoms seemed characteristic of it but I don't think they were caused by 2 days of that medication. Nevertheless notify your prescribing physician of those symptoms and get advice and instructions.

Yes: Occupational therapists as well as speech therapists can help children with textural issues and oral-motor control problems.  Both therapists should be involved with children with Down syndrome starting in early infancy.  A nutritionist with experience in pediatrics would be highly recommended in this particular child in addition to the others to help mom plan a balanced diet.

: Conception date can be determined by Last Menstrual Period (LMP) or by early ultrasound calculation. If the dates do not match, the Ultrasound date is typically more accurate. It does not mean that the baby measured small, just that your original calculation may have been off. Because ovulation varies with each cycle, conception dates are difficult to pinpoint with LMP.
