Perhaps: The localized injections described usually have limited widespread bodily effects, and it would be very unusual to experience hot flashes after these, but due to the multiple complicated effects of steroids, such problems are not unheard of.  Consult with the doctor who injected you.

Sounds right: Those sx would be suspicious for shingles. Treatment should start within 3 days of seeing the rash for best results. Anti inflammatories and topical creams prescribed by your doctor can also help. Fresh blisters and until they crust over can be contagious so be careful

If : If there is any concern for pregnancy, then please take a pregnancy test to be sure.  As you are having unusual symptoms and bleeding then it would be reasonable to have testing.  If you have persistent symptoms, or have vomiting, dizziness/fainting, or other symptoms that are unusual then it would be reasonable to contact your physician.

i have had myasthenia gravis for 18yrs and systemic lupus for 2 yrs. for 6 months i have had most all of the symptoms of pelvic girdle pain, but with  bleeding.  i am 55 yrs  w/ hot flashes.  help?

See md asap: Assuming you mean vaginal bleeding, see gyn, to make sure you don't have a potentially serious uterine or ovarian problem (including cancer). If you mean rectal bleeding, see GI doc to check for colorectal issues, including inflammation, polyps, cancer. If you mean urinary bleeding, start with gyn, but may need urology  evaluation.

i am a 41 year old woman. i had a full hysterectomy in my early 30's. i have been able to stay of hrt but lately my moods, hot flashes etc. are out of controll. do i need to consider hrt?

Yes: Assuming your ovaries were removed at the time of the hysterectomy, i would encourage you to try estrogen replacement  therapy.  You are too young to be without estrogen. No estrogen can  cause bone and vaginal problems in addition to the symptoms you describe.

: You may be dealing with symptoms of menopausal estrogen deficiency. These generally develop in the mid to late 40s as women begin the transition to menopause but can last into the 60s. Please get seen by your PCP to discuss treatment options.

Likely unrelated: Melatonin's basic effect is to make one groggy. Any hot flashes he has is likely unrelated but feeling disoriented may be an effect.

None: Although many herbs have been touted to help hot flashes there are no good scientific studies looking at them. Talk to a gynecologist about the advantages and risks of estrogen/progesterone replacement for you.

Not all do: The evening is the most common time for hot flashes, but they can occur anytime.  There is speculation that there are cyclical rhythms to hormone secretions or some women are just more aware of them when their activity is less.

Probably normal: The body goes through many temperature cycles.  There are long term (annual and monthly) variations and short term (daily) variations.  Some women have hot flashes only at night.  Ways to help are to lower the temperature of the room, lighter pajamas, ceiling fan, lighter blankets, etc.
It is probably nothing to worry about.
