Egg vs Fluid: A follicle is a normal part of the ovary that holds the egg. Each month a follicle is triggered by hormones to mature so that the egg can be ovulated. Cysts are fluid filled and larger than a normal follicle. There are many types of cysts. Most are harmless but some could be associated with different diseases, ex polycystic ovary syndrome or endometriosis.

Pocket v sac: A follicle is a tiny pouch at base of each hair that grows on the body.  If one of these follicles get clogged, a collection of sebaceous material or broken down hair plugs can form, and when surrounded by a wall, it becomes a cyst.  Often these grow under the skin (subcutaneous), and with hot compresses may resorb on their own. Sometimes they don't and may have to be drained or removed by the doc.

It can: Small ovarian cyst arise spontaneously in the ovary when not on administered hormonal suppression in the process of ovarian follicle/egg formation. Yes, they can and do go away spontaneously or with hormonal suppression if still small. By the way, 3 centimeters is only a little more than one inch.

No.: Not really. Infection or a cold can affect your cycles, but not your ovaries.

Cysts: Obviously, it is possible to have two eggs ovulate but that is not the norm and especially not persistently. More likely multi cystic ovary, a benign condition.

Sounds like no: You describe normal ovarian measurements and a normal follicle. We can not see your report but normally if an ovarian cyst were present it would be listed on the report.

had an us to check for cyst after localized pain (for 4 months now). was told all is normal, just one mature follicle at 3.9 cm and that i would likely ovulate soon. is that normal, it seems big?

Normal: Yes that is high normal but can be normal. It might be worth while to have a repeat us to determine if that particular cyst has resolved. Remember. You make a cyst or follicle every month. 

Other causes could be your uterus, colon, bladder, muscles, hernia. Make sure your doctor is ruling out all of these causes as well.

i did an ultrasounds scan on day 12 and had 2 follicles on my right measuring 22x23mm & 17x12mm. on my left, 8 heamorrhagic cyst measuring between 16 and 24mm in size. do you you think i might still ovulate as normal this cycle and around when?

: The follicle that is the 22 x23 mm is the right size to ovulate and you typically ovulate on day 14 of a cycle.
