: None of these tests should be affected by the loss of your uterus, though they could reflect lingering effects from the surgery itself. These borderline changes are unlikely significant but need to be evaluated in the context of any other symptoms you may be having and should be repeated in a few months to assure they are stable. A lower LDL is good!

Usally about 6 weeks: Most of us do not do very many total abdominal hysterectomies anymore, since I do most of mine either laparoscopically, with the robot or vaginally which cause the patient much less pain. And I do a lot of endometrial ablations in my office which can stop heavy or prolonged bleeding so my patients do not even need to do a hysterectomy.

You're OK: If you mean that the surgery was 4 weeks ago and there is some vaginal spotting of old blood this is normal and expected. As long as you have no fever, worsening pain, urinary symptoms, or vomiting, you should do fine.

TAH August 12, 2017: If your TAH was in August of 2017, and "the plaster" refers to the dressing on the abdominal incision, it should have been removed months ago, and can be safely be removed now, if there is no redness or swelling around the dressing.

Hysterectomy: A total abdominal hysterectomy could last 45 minutes to multiple hours depending on how complicated your case is, prior surgeries, your weight, findings intraoperatively, cancer related surgery etc. If it is for a thin patient, with no prior surgeries, no pelvic masses etc, probably around 45 min to 2 hours depending on surgeon experience. This can vary a lot.

This is misunderstoo: Tah means removal of the uterus and cervix, partial means removal of the uterus and leave the cervix. If you have the uterus, cervix and ovaries removed the proper name for this procedure is total abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo- oophorectomy.
