Not usually: Hyperthyroidism due to graves' is associated with an increased risk of type 1 dm. Talk to your endocrinologist.

Maybe impaired: The effects of thyroid hormone on blood glucose is complex.  Insulin levels may be increased, but  there is also resistance to Insulin action.  Often, fasting glucose is not affected, but glucose may increase more after a meal (i.e. Impaired glucose tolerance).  All this should improve when the thyroid is treated, unless you are also developing diabetes.

Hyperthyroidism: If you are treated for hyperthyroidism and have the issues you report you must see your doctor as soon as possible to see what is happening and get your thyroid levels under control.

Not hyperthyroidism: A high calcium level can be a sign of hyperparathyroidism, not hyperthyroidism.  The parathyroid is a small group of glands located next to your thyroid, but has nothing to do with your thyroid.  Typical symptoms of hyperthyroidism are weight loss, tremulousness, fast heart rate, heat intolerance, muscle weakness, trouble sleeping, light periods, increased bowel movements.

Hyperglygemic: Your family physician is the best one to work with on this problem.  Fasting hyperglycemia can mean you are either diabetic now, or headed that way.  The most common type is type ii, meaning it isn't Insulin dependent but can be managed with diet, exercise, and sometimes also oral hypoglycemic agents.Unless you attend to your doctor's lifestyle recommendations, you could develop full diabetes.

Sugar Cravings: I don't know if we know the reason but it is a common symptom of pms which makes me think it is hormonal but that is just my opinion.  Hope this helps.

Sugar craving: Lower carb diet and higher in good fats such as coconut oil, olive oil, and fish oil.  The fats will help w/feelings of satiety.  Carbs turn into sugar so avoid them   W/in a week your craving will weaken and eventually go away.  See doc to make sure you are healthy enough to do this.  Peace and good health.  You can use stevia for sweetening if you like.
