Hyperglygemic: Your family physician is the best one to work with on this problem. Fasting hyperglycemia can mean you are either diabetic now, or headed that way. The most common type is type ii, meaning it isn't Insulin dependent but can be managed with diet, exercise, and sometimes also oral hypoglycemic agents.Unless you attend to your doctor's lifestyle recommendations, you could develop full diabetes.

Hyperglycemia: High blood sugar can be diabetes type 1 or 2 . Your endocrinologist can discuss in details what your blood work results entail & what tx options there are.
