Yes for BV: A single dose of azithromycin or taking doxycycline twice daily for 7 to 14 days  is used for Chlamydia. Get checked for chlamydia just in case.

Coverage: The point is that all the bacteria that potentially could cause vaginitis or pelvic inflammatory disease are covered by the chosen antibiotics. Flagyl covers trichomonas and gardnerella (bacterial vaginosis), ceftrioxone covers gonorrhea.

Hello. : Hello. I don't know if this is a woman writing in or a man. If this is a man and there is a penile discharge it should be evaluated no matter what. If this is a female- vaginal secretions that are white, clear, tan or light yellow (especially upon drying) can be normal. However healthy vaginal secretions should not be malodorous.   I would get it checked. Because if it is chlamydia, even if you don't have symptoms, you could infect your partner and it can cause serious damage to the reproductive organs. Take care.

Wrong medication: Flagyl is not the correct medication for chlaymdia. Doxycycline or Azithromycin is the treatment for chalymdia.

Flagyl not works: Flagyl not help to treat Chlamidiae. You need either azithromycin or doxycycline. You should feel symptomatic improvement in 2 to 3 days. Better not to retest for the infection within three weeks after treatment as it can give false positive results with dead bacteria. May retest in 3months.

does flagyl and amoxilin effect the efficiency of azithromycin for chlamydia?

Shouldn't: In fact amoxicillen used to be the alternate to doxycycline for treatment of chlamydia in pregnancy and still is if allergic to zithromax.  All those antibiotcs however if taken close together likely would result in a yeast infection.  Also, ask for a test of cure a couple weeks after zithromax and no sex with your partner(s) until he/they are all treated.

Of course: If you still have symptoms you have not been cured, but the question is then, of what?  You may or may not have more things than chlamydia.  Go back to your doctor and be reevaluated.

my partner said he tested pos for chlamydia and he took a one time dose to cure it...i went to er and they gave me flagyl 2 gram and doxycycline 100mg and a rosefin shot just incase...no results yet but i woudl like to know if flagyl cures chlamydia becau

If : If you cannot finish your course of Doxycycline due to side effects, you should give your doctor a call and let them know before just stopping the medication.  There are other antibiotic options for you depending on your symptoms.  Flagyl in a single dose alone is not recommended to treat chlamydia by itself.

2 years ago i was positive for chlamydia and my doctor gave me medication like flagyl over my 2 year period. but, i was never cured ! i need help!

Infection: Probably need testing again. However. Flagyl is not treatment for  Chlamydia.  You should probably have a consult or be seen.
