will an mri show chostochondritis ?i think i tore somthing in the chest . have had it now for 8 weeks .

Not likely: No. An MRI is generally not helpful.  A Rx that works but is not often tried is to wear a rib belt to decrease pain by limiting chest expansion  just enough to help the injury  resolve quicker! Sometimes a direct injection at the most painful area with a steroid and a Caine  will also hasten recovery.

Chronic Chest Pain: Chest pain with negative cardiac eval is virtually always due to gastroesophageal disease / spasm or costochondral ( musculoskeletal) sources. The source of the pain is not always as important as finding something which gives you good relief and improves your quality of life. It is also posible that this is pleuritic in nature, but i think someone might have picked up on this already.

symptoms: shortness of breath, pain in both ribs, mostly left side.  pressure increase these symptoms. had a mri heart is normal. costochodritis ?

Yes: These symptoms are consistent with Costochodritis which is inflammation in the ribs and cartilage from minor trauma which could be as simple as a hard wire in the bra. 
Use a heat pad, take ibuprofen 600-800mg every 6-8 hours around the clock for the next four days. 
If no improvement, see your physician.

is slipping rib syndrome different from costochondritis? would xrays show it? i was told its costochondritis but i went cause my ribs cave in like srs

Different : Neither can be seen on Xray as too subtle. Slipped rib syndrome is often a missed diagnosis as it is not taught in many medical schools. is chronic inflammation from mild but recurrent costochondritis a risk factor for future cancer? pain is in the same spot and is mild when it shows up, sometimes ill go months without it ( two yrs after dx, baby irritated spot on rib during preg)

Not known as such: Costochondritis is a chronic, recurrent condition not known to be related to cancer, your symptoms seem to be consistent with it&gt; Physical therapy and NSAIDS, if tolerated are commonly used.

low rib pain when bending and at times hard to breath, breathing comes back to normal when i sit for a few minutes. i have fibro and costochondritis; getting the low rib pain for years but not the breathing . echo done in march shows strong heart?

: The origin points towards musculoskeletal (when bending) and in such cases work up should include spine as pain is many times radiated along the ribs. Lung pathology, including effusions may cause similar symptoms as well. Otherwise good to know that heart is strong and is not the reason for the symptoms.

Cancer: There is very little chance of any kind of tumor and it would certainly show if present. Costochondritis is very common and easy to treat. Good Luck
