Helps for back pain: Multiple studies have demonstrated that spinal manipulation for low back pain, both acute and chronic, is helpful. It was more effective than medication and at least as helpful as massage or physical therapy. Most back pain gets better regardless but chiropractic care is a technique to hasten pain recovery & improve function. Spinal manipulation may alter pain perception and improve mobility.

herniated l4 disc 2 1/2 wks. what's next after chiropractic treatment.  still so much pain. can't work or do one thing for too long...walk,sit etc?

Seek evaluation: Chiropractors offer conservative therapies with manual manipulation but if there are more severe underlying problems such as radiculopathy or severe spinal stenosis, a chiropractor may not help.  You may require more than just Xrays of the low back as well.

Not likely: Generally I do feel that chiropractors are good at managing spine related issues.  Some have more training in other joint issues but they can be hard to find.  Your best bet is a good physical therapist. Be sure you have an accurate diagnosis by a musculoskeletal expert such as a physiatrist or orthopedist.

after chiropractic treatment to my neck, i was severely dizzy, still dizzy 2 months later. epely maneuver didn't work.  can't do anything but sit now?

See you doc: It's possible the manipulation of your neck damaged the vertebral that supply blood to the part of your brain controlling balance and coordination.  You should be checked out to see if this is due to an inadvertent medical injury

See GI doctor: Back pain and diarrhea are not typical for celiac disease and thus you need to consult a GI doctor to get the proper diagnosis.

Chiro is not medical: A chiropractor is not a medical doctor. It is better to see a Physiatrist (also known as a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation doctor) or see a Sports Medicine doctor (be sure he or she is an MD or DO). Always have a primary care doctor to check for general problems, too. Along with seeing the doctors, Physical Therapy is helpful, especially inside a sports medicine clinic.

is it normal for a chiropractor to ask for full payment upfront until my deductible is met?dont they typically bill it to the insurance company and you pay through them until the deductible is met? or is that how this works? ty?
