Not really: Higher fiber foods tend to make your bowel movements more regular meat does not have very much fiber, but unless you are on an atkins type of all protein diet chicken in and of itself should not cause constipation.

Sometimes your: colon and intestine secrete some mucous. If this is too much this is not a desired condition. But mucousy stools are usually associated more with diarrhea then constipation.  Are you getting enough fiber in your diet? Does anybody else in your family have colon problems? Have you taken a lot of antibiotics? These are some of the questions a doctor would ask to evaluate this for you.

It's really not: the chicken or the egg because even minor deficiencies of vitamin B-12 can cause anemia, fatigue, shortness of breath and weakness. ... B-12 deficiency can cause decreased appetite, constipation, diarrhea or alternating constipation/diarrhea, weight loss and abdominal pain.  Constipation is a minor player if at all.

She gets junk: from somewhere. In an adult I would say that impulsive eating can be addressed by avoiding the cues/keeping treats out of reach, substituting other things or seeing the pattern on the impulsive eating

although have a high fibre diet with rice ,still get constipation which lasts for 5-7 days at a time regularly although i do admit eat chicken and pork twice a day .senokot works next day but don't want to keep taking it as want natural,ideas please?

Constipation.: I would start by changing the type of fiber that you are getting in your diet. Rice in general is not usually a high-fiber food. Better would be some type of cereal grain. There are many different high-fiber cereals available. You could even consider adding psyllium fiber to your diet as a supplement. Drink plenty of liquid. If this does not help, see your doctor. : Best to make sure he is drinking plenty of fluid especially water. 4-6 ounces of prune juice is acceptable. Also, popcorn and strawberries can be very beneficial. If not improving consistently, he should be seen by his physician.

hi, my baby is 6 months and started solids about 4 weeks ago. all seemed fine. 2 weeks ago she got chicken pox. she has been constipated for about 2 weeks do you think there is any connection to the chicken pox and how can i help her?

: Less fluid intake after she has started solid food is likely the main reason for constipation. Fever with chicken pox can worsen the low fluid status because of higher non-sensible water loss. You need to feed her more water through bottle.

Sounds like milk: Sounds like milk is your problem - you may want to leave it out of your daily diet and see if the problem goes away.  Add a daily calcium supplement (taken with food) daily if you need the extra calcium.  If this doesn't solve the problem, make sure you are eating a healthy diet without processed foods and with plenty of fiber.  Then talk to your md.

Risotto: Is an italian rice dish. If you have a diet that is high in this type of carbs and is lacking in vegetables, fruits, whole grains and other sources of fiber - constipation is more likely. But risotto does not in and of itself cause constipation.
