how will i know that i am ovulating, even tho i still spot while breast feeding?

Breast feeding: Ovulation resumes around 30 days post partum in breastfeeding moms.  You may have some pain on the side of ovulation called mittelschmerz.  However, in general most women aren't aware of ovulation while breast feeding.  Its fine to use condoms or Progesterone based birth control once your milk comes in.  Talk to your provider about these options.

Ovulation: The myth thta you cannot get pregnant while breast feeding is in fact a myth.. You may easily be ovulating. If you want another child then fine, but if not do not not assume you cannot get pregnant just because you are breastfeeding. Use birth control.

i stopped breast feeding 4 months ago  but still produce milk. could that make ttc harder due to hormones involved with milk production? i do ovulate.

Probably not: If you ovulate then you should be fine. Breast milk (galactorrhea) is caused by high levels of prolactin. Prolactin usually causes infertility by preventing ovulation which is not a problem for you. Best wishes.

Normal: Sometime it is possible to get leaking fluid from breast,it is due to harm one action ,. It is going to stop and if persisting then see your doctor. It is too early to find out if you are pregnant

Time will tell: well, do you feel pregnant? some women know right away.

Most women in industrialized countries do not breastfeed enough to prevent ovulation after about 3 months.

So, I would say, check a pregnancy test in 1-2 weeks. and "Act as if you are pregnant" meaning don't drink, don't smoke, etc.

and if you don't want to be pregnant, start birth control.

Amenorrhea: Can result from many causes, certainly breast feeding can cause this issue,How long has it been since you stopped breast feeding? Clomid (clomiphene) may or may not be effective.

Yes: Most patients who have a breast reduction are unable to breast feed.   Roughly 33-45% of patients may be able to.

Possibly: This can depend somewhat on the approach taken but usually creates problems with breast feeding. Any significant reduction will disrupt some  of the natural channels and relocation of the nipple/areola complex further alters the system unfortunately, you can go bigger with less effect on breast feeding than going smaller, but either way it can limit success.

my son feeds all night. how can i prevent myself from sleeping on him while breast feeding?  i can't help it!

Reset feeding patter: Hundreds of babies die every year in the us when they are suffocated co-sleeping. Babies can be taught to feed waking up, followed by diaper changes , play & social activity until tired & then put down to rest alone.If they do not feed falling asleep, they do not cry for it constantly when tired instead of hungry.

Best food for baby: Congratulation! Breastfeeding is the best for your baby.
A nursing mother should primarily focus on feeding/nurturing the baby and maintaining a healthy lifestyle including nutritious diet. There are natural body changes that occur during breast feeding but most of them are beneficial to both mother and child. Some sagging may be noticed but never enough to discourage giving your baby the best.
