Alcohol ingestion: The kidneys merely excrete water and excessive alcohol  (A) ingestion does not really affect them. The same cannot be said for your liver. Excessive A ingestion can damage your liver, as the liver metabolizes A. If your drinking was only for one month, not much damage should have been done, unless you have a long history of A ingestion previously. If you make dark urine, see a physician.

It depends: There are many factors involved, such as other stressors on these organs, your age, how often you drink and how much at a time.  If you have a family history of alcoholism or other drug addiction, it becomes more likely that your drinking will at some point get our of control.  In general, the heavier you drink, the more damage is done.

: Normal results of blood tests for kidney &amp; liver function as well as a normal urinalysis with microscopic examination of the sediment will be sufficient to rule out significant liver or kidney pathology. I gather you're concerned about your alcohol intake &amp; possible abuse. Don't hesitate to consult a substance abuse health professional for guidance.

Water soluble: EtOH is water soluble and out of your system in 24 hours. If you are a heavy drinker it can take months for your liver enzymes to normalize. It is long enough to give you a realistic picture of your actual health.

Alcohol: Alcohol alters nerve conduction by occupying the GABA receptor in the brain. Tingling can sometimes occur. If it is on both sides, that is the likely cause. If you want to avoid it in the future, avoid alcohol. If you develop weakness of arm or leg on one side, slurred speech, or other concerning symptoms, go to the ER. Hope this helps!

my dad has macrocytic anemia. 10 hemoglobin, 29 hematocrit, 14 platelets, mcv 107. tests for kidney, liver, wbc, mch, vit b12 are normal. why? no alcohol

More labs: Thyroid and Folic Acid should be assayed. A reticulocyte count is also in order as new-made reds can be quite large. Has the pathologist or hematologist looked at the peripheral smear?

No: While many people use etoh to help relieve anxiety and/or pain- it is not a good idea to try to fix something you don't understand. In your case, i would see your doctor to get labs and check your health.

every time i take even 1 sip of alcohol, i get pain across my mid/lower back & abdomen, almost as if i had been working out and my muscles are tensing. goes away after 10 min or so. blood work always normal. what could be the cause?

? Heritage: Some people are deficient in an enzyme that is needed for metabolism of alcohol. In the absence of this enzyme, acetyl-aldehyde, a product in the metabolic pathway of alcohol, accumulates and causes symptoms. Consider it a blessing, as alcohol is a poison that never did anybody any good, ever. Stay away from alcohol.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

"Liver" pain: If you are having pain on the right upper side of the abdomen in the region of the liver, it is more likely that you're having pain from the gallbladder or pancreas than from the liver itself. It is important for you to get this evaluated. I would see your doctor or go to the emergency room ASAP. Good luck.
