Switch to an NSAID: Panadol is simply Acetaminophen (tylenol) and not very effective in many instances as a pain med. If your finger, still hurts, find out why from an orthopedist or rheumatologist. You can try an NSAID such as aleve (naproxen) or advil if it is ok with your doctor.

Accepted Answer

No: May provide pain relief but Motrin or adnil- non steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines- will reduce the inflammation and secondary swelling from sting. Ice will help and Benadryl (diphenhydramine) will help itching.

after taking these for some years, midol, pamprin, & tylenol (acetaminophen)  now make me break out in hives & give me slight tongue swelling. what can i take?

Allergy - See MD: Hives and swollen tongue are often symptoms of an allergic reaction.  Often antihistamines (like benedryl) will stop or reduce the symptoms

talk to your doctor immediately to determine if this is indeed an allergic reaction & what you can take and if you develop shortness of breath, seek medical attention asap.  

If allergic --you should see an allergist (doctor) to determine you exact allergy.

dentist appt next week/ severe tooth pain/ on penicillin and tylenol (acetaminophen) 3 for 2 days/ now swelling worse and pain unbearable. should he go back to er?

Yes.: If the pain is getting unbearable and swelling is increasing then you need to be attended to ASAP. Would be better if the tooth were attended to by a dentist so that the source of the infection can be treated and the problem mitigated. Please take action.

sudden pain in left testicle hurts very bad when touched. i think it's a torsion but there is no swelling. parents said to take tylenol (acetaminophen). what do i do?

Be seen today: in your local Emergency Room. Testicular torsion is a medical emergency and be ruled out easily with an Ultrasound and you and your Mother can rest easier tonight.

i have a dvt in my left illiac vein and am suffering horribly from pain and swelling.  is it ok to talk half of tylenol (acetaminophen) 3 in addition to zarelto?

Accepted Answer

Xarelto is a blood: anticoagulant. It is not a pain medication. It is OK to take pain medication with Xarelto and Tylenol (acetaminophen) #3 will be fine. You should avoid aspirin and non steroidal medications like ibuprofen.

: Yes, NSAIDS, such as Motrin or Meloxicam have the potential of adding relief if cleared by surgery and tolerated/ not contraindicated.

i felland hit my head at the right periteal area swelling persist ice pack applied and tylenol (acetaminophen) taken for pain. should i go to the er for an ct scan.?

Accepted Answer

Not if just swelling: If you have headache, nausea, vomiting, blurred vision, sleepiness, lightheadedness (or anything that concerns you), then see a doctor as soon as possible.

If  you just have localized swelling and minimal tenderness when you touch the area, then it is likely a contusion.  The swelling may take several days to resolve.
