Usually not unless..: Arthroscopic knee meniscectomy  surgery is a relatively quick, benign procedure. It is performed at times with a tourniquet. Blood clots rarely occur after it. Some people have predisposing factors  (smokers on birth control bills, clotting disorders).  Keeping the leg active can prevent it as well as taking baby aspirin. Ultrasound evaluation is best for diagnosing a clot. If concerned c your doc.

Depends on site: Ct is the gold standard for detecting clots in the lungs (pulmonary embolism). Ultrasound is more reliable for detecting clots in the veins of the arms or legs. Clots in the neck veins are usually seen with ultrasound, while clots in the brain usually need an MRI for diagnosis.

Neither: If you are looking for a blood clot, an angiogram and an mra are the most specific. After the damage from a clot is done, the quickest test to show it will be an mri. Ct will show a stroke 48-72 hrs unless it's a bleeding stroke, w in which case it will show sooner.

went to the doctors for fast heart rate yesterday, they did blood tests and it showed my d dimer was 1.50 so they did ct scan for blood clots and the results were negative for blood clots. what else can cause d dimer to be high?

: D-dimer is more useful in excluding blood clots. A level of 1.5 may or may not be high depending on the reference range of the laboratory that did the test. There are many causes of elevated d-dimer, eg., inflammation, trauma, pregnancy etc. Talk to the doctor who ordered the test and knows more about your health!

if i tested borderline positive on blood test for lung blood clots but negative on vq scan is it possible a ct scan or another test could be positive?

Possible: VQ scan usually quite accurate at detecting significant pulmonary embolism. CT angiography is used as well and can detect small foci which may not be detected on VQ scan. Sometimes small emboli are not as symptomatic. Should consult your physician.

d dimer test (300) 5cm endometrioma in right ovary had ct scan on chest and no blood clots cbt came back fine ca125 test was 57 then 22. lower pain on right side after urinating?

Endometrioma: elevation in the levels of d-dimers has been reported in association with endometriomas. The putative mechanism it either formation of clots in the pelvis or activation of the clotting system via a tissue plasminogen activator. A gynecologist in consultation with a hematologist can investigate these issues further

Maybe: But, If and only if IV contrast was administered and the leg was in the scan.  Also, There are limitations depending on the machine used and the way the scan was set up.

If you are asking about clots causing a blockage of an artery or vein then that would almost certainly require intravenous contrast to be used. More detail regarding what you are asking about is required.
