are vitamin supplements really worth take or do u obtain enough natural vitamins from food? i get the cold a lot and would vitamin tabs prevent it?

Yes and no: A person eating a mixed diet gets enough vitamins from diet.  A person not eating enough food may need a multivitamin supplement and a person not getting enough sun exposure needs a vitamin d supplement. Vitamins do not prevent or treat colds.

Generally no: In general there is no difference between vitamins, however, you must know the different forms of the product you choose.  For example, calcium can come as calcium citrate, or calcium carbonate. They are absorbed differently by the body. You need to compare apples for apples. Same names for same names - then there should be no difference.

why do all vitamins and supplements advise to take w food? so it absorbs or so you won't get sick? i would like 2take my omega and magnesium w/o food!

Marine Fish: Oil may make you burp but ok w/out food.  If burping happens you can store the MFO in fridg and it may not happen.  Magnesium ok w/out food but food helps protect the stomach.  You can try liquid or powder if that is easier for you to metabolize.  Peace and good health.

i recently started taking a collagen drink which has many other vitamins and supplements. i feel great but my concern is that after i take the drink i totally forget about food for the whole day. is this normal or should i be concerned?

: Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body involved in the formation of bone, cartilage, muscles, tendons and even the largest organ in the body, the Skin. Because of it's fiber-like structure it tends to swell and give the sense of fullness. One should pay attention to having enough calories from the major food groups- Carbohydrate, Fat &amp; Protein- before having a collagen drink.

Yes: If you are on coumadin, (warfarin) foods rich in vitamin k reverse the therapeutic effect of the medication.Green leafy vegetables, vitamin k supplements make Coumadin (warfarin) less effective.  Ask your doctor monitoring your level of anticoagulation for full list.

my mother has anemia. we eat the exact same food and i don't take vitamin supplements. so could i have b12 deficiency as well?

No , Not Necessarily: B12 Def. can occur due to lack of a factor that is needed to allow B12 to be absorbed . For some reason your mom seems to lack this factor &amp; she will probably have to get her B12 either by injection or intra nasally .I doubt that you will have B 12 Def this young .

Beetroot vit supleme: Yes the same benefits, it has antioxidant properties and said to be good for cardiovascular health, prevention of dementia, and colon health.Having said that i can not find any scintific study to prove these benefits.I will just drink beetroot juice, it can not do any harm, it may benefit and it is not too expensive.

Yes: Certain vitamins, particularly the fat soluble ones, a, d, e, and k can reach toxic levels if you take too much. The other vitamins can cause other health problems, such as increasing risk for cancer, if taken in very high doses.
