: You are sedated during the whole procedure and you won’t remember any of it. You will turn onto your side in the procedure room and then you will be given medicine in an IV and you will then wake up in the recovery room. The doctor will give you the results of the procedure once you are awake and it will also be on a paper you take home with you. Hope this lessens your nervousness! Good luck!

Let go: It is sleep like that induced by too much alcohol or deliberately brought on by a sleeping pill only you will be watched carefully by a doctor during the whole time and you will be woken up to go home when it is done. Colonoscopy can get uncomfortable since air is used to separate the walls of bowel so the inside surface can be carefully examined. The worst part is the preparation the day before.

Sedation vs.: anesthesia. A person is only sedated for colonoscopy and does not lose consciousness as is the case with anesthesia. Anesthesia can be used for colonoscopy, though it is not needed. C-section requires anesthesia and cannot be done by sedation alone.

: Yes, you should avoid marijuana, alcohol, and any toxicants that day. You don’t know how your body will react to the anesthesia that you received for the procedure, so you certainly don’t want to add to it. By the following day, you will probably be fine. Good luck.

Sure: After colonoscopy, you may still have some liquid stool remaining in your colon.  This would be normal.  Accidents can happen due to this.  Your normal stool texture should return within 2-4 days.

Coincidence: A cough would not develop as a complication of having an endoscopic procedure a few days before.Even if you were to have the unusual and serious complication of esophagus perforation the typical symptoms that would result include pain, vomiting, breathlessness, fever, chills.However, persistent coughing is at a minimum annoying but may be significant. Be evaluated at Urgent Care/see your Doc

Depends. . .: Different drugs used to achieve anesthesia have different half-lives which translates into different lengths of time for their effects to dissipate. Depending on the amount that was used to achieve,  the sedation effect may linger for awhile. Anesthesia drugs tend to absorb into the fat tissues of the body and may be released slowly afterwards producing some lingering somnolence.
