Hematuria: This persistent microhematuria is abnormal and should be further investigated. If you haven't had a  cystoscopy, careful prostate examination, kidney ct scan, cytology studies of your urine, you probably should. A nephrologist should be involved nevertheless. A kidney biopsy may be recommended. Leg pain may require an orthopedic consultation and is probably unrelated.

?bladder stone: With the pain and findings on urinalysis, one possibility is a stone in the urinary bladder. Have you had an ultrasound of the pelvis and urinary bladder?

: Since your creatinine is normal, your eGFR should be OK. However, if this was a clean catch urine specimen, the findings of 3+ proteinuria &amp; rbcs indicates potentially serious glomerular kidney disease. A nephrologist should be consulted. Appropriate testing will be ordered&amp;includes a.microscopic examination of the urine sediment, A 24 hour measurement of total protein, urine immunofixation

1% of folks: One percent of humankind has a small amount of blood in the urine as a result of the glomerular basement membrane being thin in some places. If kidney function & imaging are good, stop working it up. Many such folks have slightly diminished hearing, especially when it's a gene at the alport locus, but it almost never causes real problems.

No way to tell: Most common cause for Microhematuria (Blood in Urine) is infection, then stone and trauma and cancer.  But age and other condition needs to be considered. 
 If your problem resolves after treating the UTI, BINGO!

You want to urinate : It is best to urinate on a regular basis such as every four hours. You do not want to hold your urine as the bladder muscle and nerve damage. Holding your urine is not going to strengthen your bladder or your kidneys.

i have lupus and persistent rbc in urine. i was told i have nephropathy. can you have that with normal kidney functioning?

Yes: A patient can have nephropathy and microscopic blood in their urine and have normal renal function this can go on for a period of years. Nephropathy after period of years usually results in decreased kidney function

Likely will pass: Ureteral stones under 5 mm have about a75% passage rate.  That being said stones of any size can get impacted and not pass on their own.  Flomax may help he stone to pass, also plenty of fluids.  There have been a few recent studies showing that sex will help kidney stones to pass ( at least in males).

Stents can cause bld: Your urologist probably mentioned that ureteral stents can routinely cause gross hematuria (i.e. Blood in the urine). Patients are advised to drink fluids liberally to avoid clot formation while the stent is in place. Hopefully the stent will be removed shortly and your symptoms will resolve.
