PMS: NSAID’s, SSRI’s, hormone meds, OTC meds containing diuretics, warm bath, heating pad, exercise &amp; acupuncture are excellent for PMS / period. Avoid caffeine, chocolate, alcohol &amp; salt. Get GYN eval to R/O underlying pathology. Consider omega- 3 fatty acids, magnesium (supplementation or through diet) or Black Cohosh with dr ok. Sipping Chamomile can dissipate pain. Ginger helps w nausea.

various possibilitie: There are various possibilities... Pregnancy or ectopic pregnancy still may be present ( if sexually active), stress, medications, or other illnesses that effect hormone levels could lead to the presence of spotting instead of a normal period. You might call your primary care provider this week for a follow up apt.

Double up for 5 days: I am assuming that you have been taking Amethia Lo for sometime already. If the bleeding is heavy or bothersome to you, then you can take 1 tablet twice a day for 5 days and then go back to 1 tablet daily. It may correct the problem sometimes. However, if you have any concern about pregnancy, please do a pregnancy test. Feel better soon.

Limited research: There is very limited research regarding the benefits of Primrose oil for PMS. You can try it and see if it helps you. If not then see an obgyn to discuss medications that are known to be helpful in alleviating the symptoms of PMS. We cannot prescribe definitive scientifically sound advice on the instructions for use of Primrose oil.

Pms alternative : Hi - recall that pms occurs monthly with the change in your hormones.  While stopping fluoxetine altogether may slow down or stop you weight gain. Your previous symptoms of pms might return.  You should talk to your physician before stopping your medication of course.   Sometimes they recommend taking fluoxetine during the week prior to your period .  For some women this seems to help.
