Explanation: If you have little room to spare over cervical spine, flexion/extension motions may contact spinal cord and trigger irritation of posterior columns, causing a neuronal short-circuiting called a lhermitte's.  Let's assume that you possess some spinal stenosis.  If you do have nerve insulation loss, higher temps can leach out potassium and make dysfnctn symptoms worse regardless of cause.

i have ms and my feet are overheating and tingling which makes it very difficult to sleep in the heat. is there anything i can do?

Varies : You could potentially try to keep them cool, or try medications that might help including possibly neurontin.  A check up to discuss the specifics of your case would probably be a good idea.

Likely, yes: Mri brain and cervical spine are only part of the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis.  However, if those non-contrast scans are negative, i'd look for other causes of your symptoms, including thyroid disturbance, high or low blood sugar, anemia, and others. Journal your symptoms, note trends and factors that worsen or improve your symptoms--that is very high-yield!  good luck!

May be the stenosis: The fibers that transmit sensory signals are in the dorsal root ganglion in the spine. If there is spinal stenosis, those fibers that receive sensory input from the areas you describe may be effected.

when i stand for any length of time, my knees and sides and front of my legs get red and hot. not warm; hot. no swelling.  no real pain other than the heat, which is uncomfortable. 
i have a history of ms, migraines and reynaud's. any ideas?

Acute vs chronic: New symptoms (acute) imply a new attack on the nervous system by the disease. These usually improve with time but the patient will often not fully recover. Chronic symptoms are due to structural damage that will not improve over time.

See below: Benign ms is a retrospective diagnosis in a pt who clearly had signs of ms, but years later remained stable.  The "gold standard" is MRI of brain and spine, with maybe lumbar puncture checking oligoclonal bands.  Talk with your neurologist.  Not clear, to me, if any of your problems might be caused by ms.

Vague symptoms: Ms usually presents with numbness that comes and goes and seems to move around. Short of changes on MRI or an abnormal spinal tap, it can be very hard to pin down.
