See below: Benign ms is a retrospective diagnosis in a pt who clearly had signs of ms, but years later remained stable. The "gold standard" is MRI of brain and spine, with maybe lumbar puncture checking oligoclonal bands. Talk with your neurologist. Not clear, to me, if any of your problems might be caused by ms.

Difficult : Benign ms is often a retrospective diagnosis. It is very difficult to predict the course in any specific case - however the prognosis is more favorable in a number of situations such as young age, near normal MRI at the onset , the number of exacerbations , the behavior of the disease in the first 5 years etc.

Benign MS: Benign MS occurs in about 15% of people with relapsing remitting MS. It means a person has 1-2 attacks of MS symptoms and no other symptoms the rest of their life. We cannot determine who has or does not have this form of MS, but it would be nice to be able to determine this.
