Alpha Lipoic Acid : Alpha lipoic acid helps with nerve healing and regeneration.  There is a large body of scientific literature about its benefits for diabetic neuropathy.  The r-lipoic form is the best.  You can find it online under the name ralapure.  Start by taking 2 capsules 3 times a day.  I have seen it help patients with nerve problems.  I have no financial connection to the company, just think it's good.

: You get more from this site when you provide detailed background information on your question. Here the age and pubertal stage of the teen is important. Natural supplements are a waste of money unless the person has a dietary deficiency. Balanced nutrition, adequate sleep &amp; exercise support growing to maximum height. When the growth centers in the long bones close, no gains in height are possible

No: There are no natural supplements that would help a Tourette patient's symptoms, assuming the patient is otherwise healthy and not missing any particular nutrients. He can just eat a healthy, natural, balanced diet; be sure to exercise several times a week; and live a low-stress lifestyle.

Yes: Some women benefit from vegetable Estrogens such as soy, black cohosh, or evening primrose oil.  There is no evidence that they are safer than prescription medications.  If there is a history of breast cancer, there are other medications that can reduce hot flashes such as venlafaxine.

Usually no problem: Natural supplements do not interfere with the action of bcps.  However natural supplements are unregulated and the contents of the bottles do not always match the label.  And purity is always an issue as there are no standards under federal regulations.  This is truly an area in which the buyer has to beware.

Not really: If you want to kill lice, then you will need a shampoo that has a chemical insecticide in it.  It is possible to eradicate lice without using one, but it would require great dedication to check the whole scalp daily for live insects, and comb the hair strand by strand to remove the tiny white eggs (nits).  The over-the-counter medicated shampoos are very safe, and i think they are a wiser choice.

Not necessarily: Supplements do not offer benefits if you don't have  a deficiency or a symptom. Taking them in general is discouraged without first consulting with doctor. See september 2012 issue of consumer reports for dangers of taking supplements including those called "natural.".
