It's complicated: Tb needs to be treated with several drugs to which it is susceptable at the same time to prevent the emergence of mutational resistance.  It also needs to be treated for at least 6 months.  In many 3rd world countries TB meds can be purchased over the counter and people take them incorrectly and not long enough.  In usa some pts are non compliant with treatment.  Both these cause resistance.

TB: Yes, it's called pott's disease. It is usually spread by the bloodstream from a source in the lungs(typically) or by ingestion orally.However, lung symptoms may not be obvious and the infection settles in the spine. It can cause spinal deformity, nerve damage and other effects . Rarely, TB can be acquired in utero, bypassing the lungs entirely and settling in the spine.

It remains dormant in the body for years and then if there is a decrease in immunity it can cause an infection anywhere. In your case it is in the uterus.

There is good treatment, though.

Of the rest, half will "reactivate" within 2 yrs and the others later sometimes due to immune suppression.
