A member asked:

How virulant is mycobacterium?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends...: On what species of mycobacterium one is referring to. M. Tuberculosis is more virulent than many of the other species but all of these organisms are relatively slow growers so they do not have the acute affects of, say, a staphylococcus or streptococcus.
