Yes: If you are unable to get pregnant due to problems with your fallopian tubes, you may be a candidate for in vitro fertilization (test-tube baby).   Some of your eggs and your partner's sperm are harvested and meet in the laboratory.  A few of the fertilized eggs are then placed back in your body.

Depends: It depends on the disease you have in the fallopian tube. If there is no inflammation and the motility (movement properties) are normal, you may be able to conceive. Also, the tube needs to be patent (free of obstacles in it) in order for the egg cell to move through it.

: It seemed you had had severe PID in the past. Contrast (dye) was seen in both fallopian tubes but there is blockage in the R. fallopian tube (hydrosalpinx). The L. fallopian tube shows sign of previous infection resulting fibrosis; however, dye can go through both tubes because contrast is seen in the abdominal cavity. Chance of fertility is low with high risk of ectopic pregnancy if conceived.

Surgery: Fallopian tube cancer can be very serious. It should be treated promptly by a gynecological oncologist. Treatment options include surgery and often chemotherapy but treatment is highly individualized.

IVF or surgery: Ivf is the best treatment for blocked fallopian tubes. It has the highest chance of producing a pregnancy and very little risk. However, surgery can be considered to try to unblock the tubes. Because ivf is so successful, surgery has become much less popular as a treatment.

No infection?: If there is no evidence of a residual Fallopian tube infection then this will not affect you going forward. However, your MD must be certain that this is not an infection as chronic salpingitis  are like dumpster fires that smolder and flare up when unattended.

Swollen or closed?: Your fallopian tubes can get "swollen" or blocked from endometriosis.  Also, chlamydia, a common cause of swollen tubes does not always have symptoms.  If your tubes are swollen, but not blocked, you are at risk for a pregnancy in your tubes, which is a life threatening situation.  You do not have to treat it unless you want to get pregnant.  You will need to see a fertility specialist.

if ive had my fallopian tubes removed and want hysterectomy but keep ovaries, would i need hormone therapy?

Accepted Answer

: No, you do not need hormone supplement with intact ovaries when you have hysterosalpingectomy done.
