Brain atrophy can be a bad prognostic sign in multiple sclerosis, as it correlates with disability.  Atrophy can be caused by other disorders, and is usually a finding of concern.

See below: Brain atrophy should be uncommon in your age. Frontal atrophy may indicate a prior trauma, ie bad car accident or a direct hit. It may also indicate potential dementia, metabolic problems or simply dehydration. Talk to your dr and or a neurologist for further help.

Yes.: It is not known whether PCA is a variant of Alzheimer's or not as the symptoms are very similar.In PCA the atrophy starts in the back of the brain  rather than a global atrophy.

Talk to your doctor : It is best to discuss your results with your doctor. The clinical significance of this result depends on your history &amp; physical in conjunction with your presenting symptoms. There are a few causes of frontal cortical atrophy. I would be encouraged by the word "mild".  Your doctor may decide to follow you with serial MRI's over time. Best wishes.
