No: Endometrial hyperplasia refers to a condition of excessive proliferation of cells of the endometium.  Endometrial cancer refers to endometrial cells that have turned cancerous.  The treatment and management of these two conditions is very different.

Possibly: Fibroids are benign growths of uterine muscle and are not cancerous. Rarely, a fast growing fibroid may in fact be a sarcoma or a cancer. A uterine polyp (like a skin tag in the uterus) can be totally benign or may house hyperlastic cells. Endometrial hyperplasia with atypical cells is considered precancerous and should be treated. Bleeding after menopause should always be evaluated.

A lot of supposition: Without confirming endometrial hyperplasia by biopsy, it is suppositional as to whether it could go on to cancer or not. The endometrium decidualizes during pregnancy in response to the hormone progesterone which tends to block estrogen dependent endometrial hyperplasia from progressing.

: Endometrial hyperplasia is an increase development of endometrial glands that can be categorized as "with or without atypia". In other words, EH "without atypia" is non-cancerous, and "with atypia" is associated with risk and progression to endometrial carcinoma. Diagnosis can be made with endometrial biopsy, dilation and curettage, or hysterectomy specimen.

i had an ultra sound done and it says i have endometrial hyperplasia. i also have a small cyst on my ovary. i went to gynecologist and they did a biopsy and pap smear. what are the chances of it being endometrial cancer before menopause? symp. 3 mos.

Biopsy: You have had the right diagnostic procedures done and should wait for the results. Odds one way or another are not meaningful for your results.

Endometriosis ?'s: Endometriosis is the growth of endometrial cells at locations other than in the uterus, causing pain/discomfort during a menstruation.  Endometrial hyperplasia is thickening of the uterine lining, caused usually by a failure of ovulation, as with PCOS or non-ovulatory cycles.

had heavy menstrual bleeding, got endom biopsy done. results were: simple endometrial hyperplasia without atypia. gyne now is trying to push me towards hysterectomy and scared me talking about future cancer etc. is it normal at 39 to do this?

: You should be conservatively managed first with hormonal therapy. There is no indication for hysterectomy in EH without atypia at this point. You may request a second opinion.
