i was working outside yesterday and fell on my side. i noticed a discoloration and a lump where i fell. could it be a clot? its quite painful.

Hematoma.: This would usually be a hematoma (contained blood under the skin) or ecchymosis (contained blood within the skin - black-and-blue mark).  This would be an unusual mechanism for clot formation, meaning clotted blood within a blood vessel.

noticed a lump on the front of my should about 1.5cm long. felt it hard and moved around then disapeared as i played with it could be a clot? worried?

Accepted Answer

Unlikely: Any clot large enough for you to feel is unlikely to be easily dislodged. If it did, it would travel through your veins back to your lungs, causing a pulmonary embolism. A 1.5 cm embolus would definitely cause some major symptoms. Likely this was a cyst or muscle spasm which resolved.

i have a group of sores and what appears to be a lump/clot of blood underneath the sores. this is on my right bum.

Buttock sores: Likely folliculitis and the blood may have been from scratching.  Alternatively could be bites, that are infected . May  benefit from washing  2x a day with Hibiclens (do not get into mucus membranes or the gluteal crack). may also benefit from topical antibiotics like mupirocin and oral antibiotics. Should also consider may be eczema ( topical steroids) or fungal ( topical meds). F/u/ w/ doc

Normal: Can be normal, but i don't know what your normal cycle time is, if it was very late, is it possible that you were pregnant? If you continue to bleed or have any pain, then see your doctor. It was most likely a normal variation on your cycle.

Blood clots do not: Normally form on forehead, so more likely a cyst if those are the only two options to decide from. Blood clots usually occur in vascular and would not present as a lump on the forehead, may look like a bruise, where a cyst will present more like a raised bump. Hope that helps!

Blood clot: It will need to be seen. Blood clots in fingers  in young person are generally traumatic and resolve over 2 weeks.

Blood clots: Blood clots rarely present as lumps.  Fatty rumors or cysts would be a more common cause for lumps. Would recommend seeing your physician for further work up.

Ganglion?: The most common hard lumps found in the hand are not clots but rather ganglion cysts which originate from joints especially around the junction of the wrist and hand.  These cysts have a jel like substance and frequently require surgery for removal.  Clots in the hand  veins are usually the result of trauma.  You may want to see a hand surgeon or vein specialist.

small lump near where ankle and calf meet.  left leg/left side. leg hurts. d-dimer normal yesterday. 3 u/s in the past. dr says no clot. wat culd it b?

Cyst: This is very likely a benign cyst which is a collection of fluid or solid material. If it does not hurts or change in size i would just keep an eye on it. If it does bother you see you in orthopedic surgeon and they can easily take it out.
