FODMaP Diet: Fodmap stands for "fermentable oligo-di
-monosaccharides and polyols" -- which are sugars found in foods.  Eating a diet low in these may help people with irritable bowel syndrome, who sometimes have difficulty digesting those components. No fruit diet: You should eat a good variety of fruits in your diet as they are low in calories and provide a lot of nutrients, phytonutrients, vitamins, minerals and fiber.  Plus they taste good!

Emphysema: A balanced diet is important. I don't think there are any vitamins that have been shown to benefit lung function specifically. Obesity makes shortness of breath more pronounced although it doesn't directly worsen lung function. Typically as emphysema worsens people have problems maintaining weight and i encourage them to increase intake giving consideration to their other medical problems.

Well-balanced meals: As long as you don't have any medical conditions that affect nutritional absorption or metabolism, and you eat well-balanced meals of mostly fruits/vegetables, calcium, grains, proteins and small amounts of unsaturated fats, you should be fine.  If you have specific medical conditions or have concerns about your nutritional status, ask your doctor to discuss it with you and run tests if needed.

1st survive!: Ask that doctor for an opinion on the time and perhaps on the type of diet. That way they are more responsible for the impact it might have on your disease. Surviving the cancer is the 1st goal. Your achieving healthy weight is also important, but 2nd. Being "hot" is 3rd. I hope achieve it!

Different benefits: With juicing you get a greater concentration of nutrients from inside the plant cells, but you miss out on the benefits of certain enzymes and the natural interaction of food with your body. You also bypass the benefit of fiber. Don't only juice (of course you want to go organic whenever possible). Chew colorful fruits and vegetables.

if a child's diet consists of mostly milk, what nutrient is missing?

Accepted Answer

Many: After age 2 years you do not need more than 2 to 3 cups of milk per day. Milk has no iron sources so you can become anemic. 
If you are not eating all food groups you are missing vitamins and micro nutrients.
Kids need at least 3 to 5 servings a day fruits and veggies, plus grains and legumes.To mention some things. Talk to your doc, find the best way to expand his diet and wean off the milk.
