Some depression is: Serotonin plays an important role in feelings of well-being vs depression. Low levels can trigger depression and other disorders. Other neurotransmitters involved in depression include acetylcholine &  catecholamines (dopamine, norepinephrine, & epinephrine). As well as corticotropin-releasing factor (crf), a stress hormone may be involved. But not all depression is chemically caused.

i took a dried urine test of my neurotransmitters, high dopamine levels, low seratonin low gaba, low epherine and low neoephorine and my histimate is high and glutamate what does all this mean? i suffere from extreme stress anxiety ocd and depression?

: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, what you described does not add up. There are no valid tests on dried urine.

Levels not abnormal: Many people don't realize there is no documented "chemical imbalance" in depression — no measurable differences in neurotransmitter levels in depressed vs nondepressed subjects.  That's why there's no blood test for depression.  What we do know is that antidepressants change the levels of neurotransmitters, and this is associated with beneficial effects.  The effect ends when the meds are stopped.

what is the rationale behind electroconvulsive  therapy for depression? which neurotransmitters are affected? how long does the effect last? thanks!

The mechanism of: action for ECT is not completely understood.  Many years ago people who when into diabetic coma sometimes had a lifting of depression so insulin was first used.  Electricity was next used to produce a seizure which is what seems to help.  Today the pt is sedated and the treatment is much easier.  The post seizure state seems to be what helps. Not really.: Very low iron levels could lead to anemia which if severe enough could cause you to feel fatigued.  You could try 325 mg iron supplement each day and see if that make you feel better.

May be depression: How can you feel your testosterone level? Perhaps you mean you have low libido. That could be a sign of depression. Consult y our physician for proper evaluation and treatment.

No clear connection: While people suffering from depression have been found to have lower levels of Vitamin D in some studies,  no evidence exists that low Vit D levels cause depression or fatigue.  If you are staying inside, avoiding sun, you may be exercising less, which would cause fatigue and possible depression.  Try some aerobic exercise indoors (treadmill, dancing) which will boost your mood and relieve fatigue

Associate not cause: Low B12 is associated with mood disorders which in turn include feeling fatigued or chronically tired or weak.  Treatment is advised.
