Accepted Answer

Not recommended: Denture cleansers are designed to clean dentures while they are out of the mouth and should not be applied to dentures while they are still in the mouth. Your skin is the largest organ in your body... Since the skin which surrounds nails can absorb the toxins in the denture cleanser, another whitening solution which is safer would be recommended.

what can u used to stop soar on your gum that cause by denture?

See your dentist: You can place anbesol on the sore area under the denture while you wear it. I would recommend seeing your dentist and asking for a prescription of magic mouthwash. It can be made at the pharmacy and contains a (1:1:1) ratio of viscous lidocaine, benadryl, (diphenhydramine) and maalox liquids. Also this is an indication that the denture may need an adjustment. See your dentist as soon as you can.

Accepted Answer

It can: But the denture will not fit right, and it will have no suction to hold it in place. You will need to constantly use denture adhesive. Many patients function this way. An alternative is to place dental implants which will hold the denture in place.

Yes: The implant normally does not have a traditional clasp but instead another attachment is used such as a zest anchor which resembles a snap fit used in clothing. The life span of an integrated implant is usually 10- 30 years.

Yes: Try ensure which is available at your grocery store .  High is calories and nutrients, and several good flavors.

Yes (in general): Your dentist should provide home care instructions, but in general denture cleaning tablets are ok for these type of retainers.  There are a number of "brands" of invisialign type retainers so you should really check with your dentist.  Never soak it in mouthwash--the alchohol in most mouthwashes will ruin it.

Service: An "implantable denture" is not a commodity, like a can of soup.  It's a service.  Cost depends on your individual anatomical requirements, skill and training of the practitioner, number/placement/type of implants, region of the country, materials used in the prosthetic appliance, and so many other factors.  Ask your Dentist for advice or referral to specialist(s).

Other way around: Treatment depends on diagnosis. Dentists can talk to you generally about pros &amp; cons of available products, but can't recommend one over the others without first determining your personal intra-oral requirements. So don't pick a product and insist that it's way you want. Have examination/x-rays first to determine what would work best for you.
