got my teeth cleaned at the dentist, she said one of my teeth is starting a receading  gum line but not to worry. however i'm very worried i'm only 22?

do follow the thread - it has some good thoughts on do's ; don'ts. Sounds like the guard may be a good idea - so is a visit to a periodontist. Smoking, alcohol, stiff bristles are not good - massage, good diet, general health are. Good luck!

for two days i have had a small hard white bump/lump on my lower gums and sometimes hurts. im seeing the dentist next week. could it be serious? should i be worried?

does hairy leukoplakia occur in the first year of hiv? was tested and it was negative, but still worried. dentist says gums look fine where pale.

i think my gums are receding one of my teeth is protruding and my left gum is really sore i am so worried my tooth will come out what should i do at home to stop this i am going to dentist but anything i can do at home?

Tooth: I have been seeing patient for 30 years and I have not seen  a tooth fall out from an infection. Try NSAID orally, topical Benddryl and or benzocaine.

had a cavity filled 3 months ago,dentist suggested that rc might required,theres not much pain while chewing &gums are fine too but it hurts while flossing &the molar is still black from one side,im worried abt infection. should i go with xray & rct?

Instruments: Instruments are cleaned and sterilized after each patient. I'm sure your Dentist placed a sterilized tip into the sterilized ultrasonic scaler before he used it to treat you. I'm also sure he has more than one tip in his armamentarium, all of which are cleaned and sterilized between use. If concerned, discuss this with your Dentist.

could a fluoride varnish (concentrated form) be applied by a dentist to decrease dentin hypersensitvity and sensitive teeth due to gum recession?

Yes.: Fluoride varnish is recommended by the ada not only for children but adults as well. It decreases sensitivity, strengthens the enamel, and has anti bacterial properties as well. It is particularly recommended for adults with gum recession and root exposure to reduce the risk of cavities.

Common concern: If this occurred within the past few days, try giving it about 2 weeks for gum tissue to resolve as it can be irritated during crown placement.  Anything really beyond that you should consult with the same doctor first. It may be leftover cement, a poorly contoured crown, or you may have simply gotten something stuck in the gums. Usually these are simple solutions and just require a follow up.
