is it normal for the pulse on right side of neck to feel stronger than the left? more apparent in the evening. rhythm is regular, not too fast.

Something or nothing: Sorry to be equivocal, but this could be something or could be unremarkable. A physical exam with attention to the carotid pulse (on both sides of neck) would be required to evaluate for carotid stenosis--which is narrowing of the inside of vessel usually due to cholesterol buildup found in older patients. In your age, I would consider coarctation of aorta which you would have been born with.

hard, not mobile, lymph node near carotid pulse right side of neck. sometimes hurts. about the size of a gum ball. been there for at least 3 months. havent been sick. ent felt it today said its fine it may just stay that size. second opinion?

Get second opinion: If you are concerned about it get second opinion. It is small so probally alright but concerning if not mobile.Some doctors may be offended by second opion but I welcome it as none of us are perfect.The best option ask you current ENT to remove it and send it to pathology since near surface.

Normal variation: If your Dr has listened to each side of your neck with their stethescope and determined that nothing is out of the ordinary you can rest assured that there is nothing wrong. Normal human variation often includes side to side asymmetry in everything from breast size to vascular differences.

Sounds normal: Aren't you the same person who asked about seeing your pulse in your armpit? This is entirely normal, no matter where in your body you see it.

A neck muscle twitch: The carotid artery pulse can be felt deep &amp; to the side of the trachea (windpipe), deep to the internal jugular vein and anterior to the sternocleidomastoid muscle in the lower neck, within the grove to the side of the trachea. The vertebral arteries are within openings the cervical vertebra &amp; cannot be palpated. Anything else moving will be a muscle or muscle tendon.

Maybe spine : This may be due to a problem within your cervical spine involving one of the nerve roots. Would recommend a visit with a local neurosurgeon or orthopedic surgeon for further evaluation if persistent and painful and debilitating.

: It is normal to see a post on both sides of the neck especially someone who is thin

Yes: Looking at additional information you entered chances are that you might have extra fluid in your circulatory system. This is reflected by pulsation on your neck predominantly on r side. Whether this sx need to be trated is subject of evaluation  and clinical judjement by your primary doctor and/or cardiologist. Please go to them and address your concerns.

No: More likely your artery position beneath the sternoclidomastoid muscle is variable on the 2 sides. You really cannot diagnose a carotid artery aneurysm by palpation. (really!)

Should be the same: The pulse should be the same on both sides of the neck, the arms, and the legs.  They should also be synchronized.

It is best for someone else to take it- it is difficult for us to measure two pulses on ourselves at the same time.
