Still Controversial: John, I'm still not completely through the book, but the premise is one that I am beginning to agree with--namely that carbohydrates are the "root of all evil."  Keep in mind that this assertion is still very controversial, and you will find some doctors who agree with it and some who do not--which is true of almost any new idea amongst doctors. See a Dr: Any unbearable pain which has been going on for years requires a thorough exam by a Dr. Causes for the pain you have described vary from benign (improper posture, poor lifting technique, overuse) to serious ( herniated cervical disc, dislocated rib, heart problem, compression fracture) A Dr will examine you and may order tests and imaging to determine the cause and treatment for this problem.

???: Red wine is not really going to lower cholesterol. There are much treatments.
First: avoid cholesterol containing food

Grain Brain: Grain brain contains some life changing ideas.  Whether you adopt all the suggestions depends on your clinical status.  Staying off wheat is probably a good idea for most of us -- other grains like amaranth, quinoa, etc are better.  If you&#x27;re Insulin resistant at all, you might need to be careful of very sweet fruits that increase your blood sugar.  Berries, apples, etc are less a problem.

Yes and no: The evidence favors the hypothesis that we did, indeed, evolve from apes.  But with evolution comes special characteristics. A ferrari "evolved" from an oxcart but it certainly is more special than than oxcart. Humans are sentient beings and, arguably, have a soul (depending on your faith). There's no doubt that we communicate and reason far in a far more sophisticated way than apes.

: Urogenital flora means the bacteria that normally lives in your urinary tract and around your genitals. Insufficient growth means the culture did not grow enough when the report was generated to make an accurate medical comment. Further reports to follow means that more reports will be coming.

: Exposure to what??  I would go to CDC.gov and see if you can find details.  Also you can go to pubmed.gov and search the worlds lit on this.  I would search for time to become positive after exposure for whatever it is you are worried about.  Good reason to use protection.

Best guess: Most experts feel it came from central Africa as a cross over from a similar disease in possibly chimpanzees.  The central africans trap and eat these relatives of humans and thereby expose themselves to whatever diseases they might carry.  Once a human got it, modern transportation and social behavior guaranteed a wide spread.
