A member asked:

Did human beings really evolve from apes? and if so, than does that mean were no more special than an average ape?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes and no: The evidence favors the hypothesis that we did, indeed, evolve from apes. But with evolution comes special characteristics. A ferrari "evolved" from an oxcart but it certainly is more special than than oxcart. Humans are sentient beings and, arguably, have a soul (depending on your faith). There's no doubt that we communicate and reason far in a far more sophisticated way than apes.
