i have dark nails due to melanin and so i'm always wearing nail polish. i heard about fake nails implants, a surgery born in usa. info or intox?

Stick with nail: polish. Surgery for a benign and cosmetic issue like color of nails is not a good idea. If nail polish has worked so far, stick with it.

Prob not melanoma: if both you and your brother have similar nail findings. it is not melanoma.

But you will need to be seen to get a definite answer.

Usually it is : Fungus, other possibilities could be blood from trauma or sports activity. Sometimes there is keratin build up.

I am not sure: I would have her seen. I cannot find any pictures of black swollen cuticles--they should be pink so i would want it evaluated.

First time?: mostly it is going to be a pigment issue BUT if this is the first time you've got this, then metal deposition (lead, iron, others) could do it. It isn't common.

Oh, is it across or up and down like a line? A line can be a very serious condition (pigment making cancer).

Fungus can : Cause this, so can a melanoma.....You should have it examined, it could be blood as well. You can get blood from simply walking, the end of the shoe can hit against the edge of the toenail and cause a subungual hematoma.

one of my little toes is dark on the nail area. it bled the first day that i injured it. it hurts a lot! what do i do?

See a foot doc: Or dermatologist who can remove the remainder of the blood if there is any. If there is no remaining blood an xray may be in order to see if you broke the toe. If the digit is infected pharos an antibiotic is in order.

Fungal infection: This sounds like onychomycosis, a non-dangerous infection, but one that discolors and deforms the nail. Debris can form under the nail, causing it to elevate. OTC meds are typically not very effective for this problem. Consult with your primary care doc or dermatologist to discuss treatment options.

This could be a -: -heart or respiratory problem. have you noticed that your lips are also bluish. if so, you would also be short of breath with exertion. if this fits your complaints, you need a cardiac and or pulmonary evaluation.

Nail Science....: It certainly sounds like something is going on with those nails. I would think that your age would limit the possibilities, but you can never be certain without actually seeing. Sometimes testing may be needed to identify the cause, or at least part of it. I can tell you with all certainty, the longer you wait to start treating the nails, the harder it will be to exact a successful outcome.
