Very easily. : Other than ur regular home care and brush/floss.. U should rinse with warm  salt water( one tea spoon in 4 ounces of water).  And also some antibacterial  rinse such as listerine. Try avoiding any hot/ spicy food. It is not a big deal.. No worries,  if it is a superficial cut.

Cut on gums: The gums heal quickly so if is a cut if you keep the area clean the cut should heal in days
but if it is there for a while it may be more serious and you need to have it checked out
sometime covering it with an ointment can make it feel better.

Chill: ou mentioned, just noticed it. Therefore, it wasn't bothering you /no trauma that you are aware that brought it on. Chewing something with a sharp edge may have caused it, like a Pop corn husk.  You stated no symptoms like fever/chills, headache, nausea or vomiting. Likely it will be gone in 48 hours. If it persists or enlarges, then have it evaluated. Always use good oral hygiene-brush your teeth

Probably two issues: The nervous system of the tongue and gums is separate.  I do not think the tongue pain is related to the cut on your gums.  You should go in to see a doctor if you can't isolate the cause of pain.

Canker sores: You need to see a dentist when this hurts so bad you can,t eat  or drink, if you have a fever, occurrence is prolonged, and  if you have spreading or large sores.Meanwhile avoid trigger foods such as acidic and citrus foods,spicy foods,brush with soft bristle toothbrush and floss regularly,and avoid chewing gum. Anything sharp edge!: Anything will cut your gums... Gums are very gentle tissue, especially if gums are inflamed. So, pretty much anything like fish bone, even bread, popcorn....may leave a cut on your gums. The best thing to do- visit your dentist!
