Wrist pain: Prolonged pain may be due to chronic tendinitis.  You could also have an occult fracture that was not seen on previous films, but may be evident on a bone scan.  Speak with your doctor about this.

nurse tried to start iv in back of wrist for hida scan. she got blood but it wouldn't flush with saline so she took it out. area around it very sore?

It will heal : It is not unusual and soreness will go away and it will heal without any problem.If it continue to hurt and there is swelling or redness extending upwards than consult your doctor.In all probability it will be ok

Get Dr's order & go: This testing requires a doctor's order to perform. So with one, you then choose where to have it performed--either at a freestanding radiology center (like american, advanced, or others), or use a hospital's radiology services--the latter may take longer to schedule, as have inpatients to take care of also. Once done, the images will be reviewed by a radiologist, and reported to ordering doctor.

i had a bone scan yesterday but could only see the computer when they did my hands . both my wrists and knuckles where bright white . is this normal ?

Bone scan: Increased uptake in the hands is nonspecific.  If it is near the joints (knuckles) it is likely degenerative joint disease / arthritis.  If it is at the shaft of the bone it could be a fracture if there is a history of trauma.

i think i fractured my left wrist playing baseball, do i need to get a ct scan?

Probably not.: If you happen to be a professional player, then maybe. Otherwise, plain x-rays will show most fractures. If you have persisting pain with no visible break on x-ray, a ct scan may be considered to take a closer look at the structures of the wrist. If this is the case, then an MRI may also be considered, which can better show the soft tissues (like tendons and ligaments) if there is a sprain/strain.

i have been diagnosed with a carpal boss and am having and mri scan tomorrow. i'm wondering what causes the pain around the bump, cause when i press on some of my tissue or bones around it (on the lower part, near the wrist), it hurts really bad?

: Carpal boss is not a medical term. Hopefully by now you have had the imaging study and received proper treatment for the malady.
For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.

See hand specialist: Ct scan is very good at identifying certain fractures in the wrist, depending on how fine the cuts are. A small chipped bone is not of much concern unless it is associated with a ligament injury. A hand specialist is the best person to evaluate you for a ligament injury. Sometimes additional tests - MRI and/or arthrogram - are necessary, and some injuries benefit from early surgcial intervention.

pain in right wrist since 3 months. have taken ct, mri&bone scan. it seems to be an intraosseous ganglion cycst in lunate bone.is surgery required?

Pain ok: If you have a ganglion cyst it may continue to cause pain but can be tolerated.  The surgery may work but it can recur.  Try to see if you can tolerate it if not then go for surgery.

Short ulna : The two bones of the wrist are the ulna and radius. Negative ulnar variance means the ulna is shorter than the normal range in relation
To the radius . Treatment depends on degree of variance but can start with brace , injection and therapy.
Sometimes surgery needed.
