Monitoring: The only difference is at higher, prescribed dosing, your physician can discuss with you side effects to monitor for and precautions as the likelihood of those side effects increase with increased dosage. While you may be able to tolerate 800mg for periods, it may cause a severe stomach bleed in others and physicians need to monitor these issues for patient safety. Hope that helps!

Yes if is...ppi!: Long term use of proton pump inhibitors can cause B12 loss, mg loss, osteoporosis, and pancreatic insufficiency when used long term. H2 blockers do not have these issues, but are less potent.  I do not know what you are taking.  The problem with these drugs is they cause gastrin to be secreted which hypertrophies acid producing cells, so you produce more acid coming off.  They need weaning slowly!

No: These medications are not effective that way. Better get rechecked you can take have a different problem in your stomach.....H pylori may be. Antacids can be taken that way...As needed. You can take daily for 8-12 wks and then can stop to see if symptoms are coming  back.

Not likely but ?: Sucrafate and Anti-perspirants both contain aluminum which is absorbed and stored in bodily tissues. Chronic may cause toxicity, most particularly for patients with chronic renal disease or who are on dialysis.

I would advise switching to an anti-perspirant that doesn't contain aluminum such as Arm and Hammer.  Ask your physician if there is an alternative to Sucrafate for your condition.

Iron: Over the counter iron pills come in various strenghts and can be similar to prescription iron.  Best to use a slow release iron e.g. Slow Fe and take 500 mg vit C with  each dose to help absorption of iron.
Look up high iron foods on google, as food is best source of iron.

Glasses half full vs: Are the glasses half full vs half empty... as the old saying sort of goes. It depends on how one wants to look at it ($6 plus 50 cents is the same as $7 minus 50 cents). Likewise, -7.00 diopters plus 0.50 diopters in one axis (direction) would be the same as -6.50 diopters minus 0.50 diopters in the perpendicular axis (opposite direction).
