i have solitary kidney from birth. i was wondering if it is ideal for me to take creatine as a supplement for better results in gym?

: NO. You can have a healthy  happy and long life with one kidney. Pl stay away from 'health' supplements for they are not regulated and some can be harmful.

Creatine: Creatine does not contribute to kidney stones; be sure you drink 4 liters per day; add ReaLemon extract 4 tablespns per day; add orange juice twice daily; be modest with meat; follow low salt; minimize oxalate rich foods

Not the key: Your history indicates you've already had kidney stones. The key for you will be staying well-hydrated. Creatine's great for a man putting on muscle, and protein's good after; i hope you're not spending much money on anything else and i trust you're a natural bodybuilder -- everyone i know who's tried artificial steroids has been sorry. doc added a thiazide diuretic to my bp regimen. take creatine as a workout supplement. as both like to gobble water, one to the muscles and the other (kidney?). is this a bad continued process or okay?

Creatine: Creatine is safe and doesn't lead to dehydration as any storage of water by it to muscles is quite minor and insignificant.

if i have low creatine (kidney level) 1.15 doctor said it low is it safe for me to take magnesium citrate? also can i take an iron supplement with low kidney level? i got a semi low number for mch. thank you! :?

: Low creatinine numbers do not mean reduced kidney function. As kidneys begin to deteriorate, the creatinine actually goes up. If your GFR is over 60, you can take magnesium safely. Iron supplementation can be pursued if there is clear evidence of iron deficiency. An isolated abnormal mch is not a diagnosis of iron deficiency. Please speak with your doctor to discuss next steps based on your labs.

: If you eating is regular mixed diet, creatinine will not provide any benefit other than lightening your wallet.
To prevent stones, drink enough water daily so that your urine is mostly colorless.

Creatinine of 8: When your creatinine (C) is 8, you should do is seek out a nephrologist (N) to see if you need to start some type of dialysis. A C of 8 is more significant in a 120 lb white female than a 180 lb. black male. Some of the symptoms that necessitate the start of dialysis are nausea, vomiting, itching, reversal of the day-night sleeping pattern, among others. See a N for the answer to your question.
