Ruptured cysts ?'s: Ovarian cysts which rupture cause pain, and a lack of menstruation is consistent with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).  Ask your gyn physician about a pelvic ultrasound, and testing to determine if  PCOS is present.  Oral contraception bcp's will reduce cyst formation, and preserve fertility, as well as avoiding long standing changes in uterine lining cells.

: Your OB doc 's plan is appropriate. Ovarian cyst is usually asymptomatic unless it is very big. You have pain with menstruation, dysmenorrhea, so I guess why the pelvic ultrasound was done. Contraceptive pills may serve 2 purposes in your case by preventing more cyst development or alleviating the dysmenorrhea' s symptoms.

ovarian cyst 25mm can it cause aching legs and pain on the opposite ovary, also is it normal to have periods every 14 days or less at 47?

Something else: It would be uncommon for a cyst 25mm to cause pain.  If the pain was associated with endometriosis, then yes, this could be of a piece causing pain, but cysts that size are too small to cause pain in and of themselves.  Not normal to have periods that frequent at 47. Could be breakthrough bleeding, but need biopsy at 47 to make sure it's not pre-cancer or cancer. See your gynecologist  soon.

Uterus not ovary: The enlarged uterus is the more likely source of the 9 days of heavy bleeding from fibroids or other growths rather than the ovary. Have a GYN MD investigate that issue more thoroughly.

Polyp: A uterine polyp can certainly cause heavy periods. Ask if you are a candidate for a simple minimally invasive procedure called myosure. An ovarian cyst can cause pain.

Family practice: Post menopausal bleeding always needs to be checked out. It sounds like you have seen your dr already. U/s has been done. Next step is to have endometrial biopsy.  Gyn consult to see if you are a surgical candidate.

: Go see a doc. Undernutrition causes the body to go into a starvation mode, reducing optional systems like reproduction. Ovarian egg release suspends, and the organ pauses function. The cause of your lump is unknown and should be evaluated by your doc. Continue down this path and you may die by the end of the year.

May be: It would be prudent to do a home pregnancy test using first morning urine and following the directors for the test carefully.

Not per se: An ovarian cyst by itself should not alter the menstrual bleeding. However, depending on the type of cyst, it may be associated with hormonal disturbance.
Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time. You may consider implanted contraceptive or an IUD.
