Yes: The heart will be seen contracting irregularly if there is an arhythmia. However, the exact type of rhythm problem is diagnosed by doing an ekg. I can tell there is a rhythm problem just by feeling your pulse or by watching the heart beat on an echocardiogram.

However. the echo itself is designed to look a structural detail, like sonar &amp; would not. The technician doing the study would likely be aware of some arrhythmias. There is often a video record of the procedure so anyone seeing it might suspect one.
