Echo: An echocardiogram can usually indicate if there is a mechanical problem. No test is without the possibility of missing something however.

Yes: An echocardiogram is an ultrasound of the heart that specifically evaluates heart structure (anatomy) and function (how well the heart squeezes and fills). This is an excellent test to look for heart muscle weakness.
