Muscle spasm: Start with heat, rest, nsaids, and massage.  If that fails you can ask your pcp to prescribe a muscle relaxer.

See below: Neck and upper back pain when you move your chin to your chest can be caused by tight muscles in your neck or from a degenerative disc in you neck.  The good news is that this will usually improve on it's own.  See your physician if symptoms last greater than 2 weeks

Time to see your doc: At 60 years old, one typical condition to cause your symptoms would be cervical spine osteoarthritis/spondylosis. This can include disc bulging, arthritis of facet joints, narrowing of the nerve canals due to bony overgrowth/bone spurs. This often can be successfully treated with a variety of measures including medications, pt, injections, etc. Of course, there could be several other causes.

MS and pain: This may just be a muscle spasm. I would recommend topical pain cream and/or a muscle relaxer. If your neurologist feels it is musculoskeletal, I would happy to do a consult.

No: Continue exercising and loosen up your mildly arthritic neck-possible from an old injury.  Arm numbness may be from positioning of your arm at night -the exact problem depends on where the numbness is.  Carpal tunnel will affect several but not all fingers. elbow nerve entrapment will affect the little finger side, vascular and nerve will affect larger areas.

Neck pain: It still could be muscular, coming from on of upper back muscles most likely rhomboid muscle or from inside your neck, see physical therapist in your area, if therapy won't help you need an MRI i consult with pain doctor in your area.

i had 2 lower deep fillings done 2 days ago and now have severe neck, shoulder and upper back pain. i cant sleep from it. what should i do?

600-800mg IBU: Could be many things but I would account the issue to current dental treatment and the filling may only be a slight part of it.  I would start with 600-800mg ibuprofen (depending on medical issues or allergies) to control inflammation/pain (especially before bed).  You might also be clenching from the treatment as well as a way of coping with other pain experienced during treatment. eval needed.

i am young and fit but have had some upper back pain for a couple of months. now getting some neck crepitus and subtle right arm numbness. muscular?

May not be muscular: The discomfort in the back certainly can be muscular. However, now if you having neck issues and numbness in the right arm these issues are concerning for a nerve issue in your neck such as a herniated  disc in the neck. See your doctor for xarys and possibly an MRI of your neck. If you are lifting weights for example, stop until your issue is evaluated.
