: The norovirus if enters a persons mouth by touching infected objects, and placing fingers in mouth afterwards will contaminate the saliva. Breathing in an aerosol of vomit in mouth will cause saliva to be a conduit of transmission. Asymptomatic people can spread many types of viruses, eg. Covid, HIV,TB, and typhoid.

Doubt it: But do not know of any data which would support my opinion.  Saliva is toxic to many bacteria and they do not survive well in it.  Pink eye can be due to both bacterial and viral infections and is usually transmitted by people touching their eyes and then hand to hand to eye transfer.  Wonder why you are asking - i guess people still spit on each other.

Meningitis: I think it is highly unlikely that he would get meningitis from this.  Usually meningitis is seen in people in army barracks or dormitories who are very close and usually it is air borne.  Make sure nobody on the team is sick.  Symptoms of meningitis can start out like the flu with high fever, severe headache, stiff neck, vomiting, confusion, seizures, sleepiness or difficulty waking up or rash.

Yes it can: Yeast  are very tough microbes. Any contact will spread this. Sailva is an excellent media for yeast to live. Any yeast infections can survive very well in the mouth. Be careful seek medical attention for you and any one contaminated.

Rare, fascinating...: Prion diseases are rare, fascinating. Haven't heard of a cure, so a diagnosis of brain prion disease in one's 20's would be bad. Because the symptoms overlap with many diseases and disorders that are much more common than prion diseases (unless a person has contact with a proven source of prions), one's doctor will be evaluating for signs of the more common diseases, which are likely treatable.
