A member asked:

Can norovirus spread through saliva, if the infected person is asymptomatic?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The norovirus if enters a persons mouth by touching infected objects, and placing fingers in mouth afterwards will contaminate the saliva. Breathing in an aerosol of vomit in mouth will cause saliva to be a conduit of transmission. Asymptomatic people can spread many types of viruses, eg. Covid, HIV,TB, and typhoid.
