Meningitis: I think it is highly unlikely that he would get meningitis from this. Usually meningitis is seen in people in army barracks or dormitories who are very close and usually it is air borne. Make sure nobody on the team is sick. Symptoms of meningitis can start out like the flu with high fever, severe headache, stiff neck, vomiting, confusion, seizures, sleepiness or difficulty waking up or rash.

Be observant: Kids sharing drinks, happens millions of times a week.Kids sharing meningitis, happens rarely. Pay attention as you would any day, but he is more likely to get hurt in an auto accident this year than have this event turn into meningitis.
