why is the  iv clindamycin dose more than the  oral dose?

Dose based treatment: Iv clindamysin is usually given for severe, often life threatening infections, whereas oral clinda is given for more commonplace infections.  Worse infections are typically treated with higher doses of antibiotics.

i'm on clindamycin for mrsa. i'm aware it's a dangerous antibiotic, but is it safer via iv or orally?

Varies: I would not really say clindamycin is a dangerous antibiotic in general.  The main issues in your case would be that a fair amount of Mrsa strains are resistant to clindamicin and also it can cause (as many antibiotics can) pseudo membranous colitis which is when antibiotics can kill normal bacteria in the gut and unhealthy bacteria can overgrow.  Iv verse po each has their plusses and minuses.

my daughter has mrsa and is taking clindamycin we are giving her bleach baths and using hyblicens soap and we bandage open wounds what else can we do?

MRSA: Congratulations. You are doing very well. The one other thing I would do is insert antibiotic ointment in both nostrils 2-3 times daily to stop the spread of infection

May be helpful: Some people advocate for tea tree oil, but the data is not strong.  On the other hand, there is no real down side so long as the tea tree oil is clean and uncontaminated.

can you take acidophilus with cleocin (clindamycin phosphate). the er dr put me on cleocin (clindamycin phosphate) 300 mg 4 x's day for 10 days for mrsa. how much acidophilus can you take in a day.

Not relevant: You may take acidophilus, but it has not been shown to alter the course of MRSA.

Skin infection: You should be okay as long as you are on antibiotics and you wash your hands with soap

Generally No: Very, very rare situation.At this stage should no longer be contagious, but check with your doctor.

my dr gave me norco 10/325 for pain cause mrsa hurts bad on face, atarax 25 mg, cleocin 300 mg bactroban (mupirocin). can i take all this together or space it out?

Better hold: either atarax (hydroxyzine) or norco, as both together can interact causing CNS depression and psychomotor impairment even if spaced out

See a dermatologist: for answers. Recurrent abscess could be strep or staph but you could also have a condition known as hidradenitis suppurtiva. See derm for answers and treatment options.

i was prescribed 300mg of clindamycin 3x a day for 14 days for tonsillitis. does that does mean my cause is really bad? i am concerned with the dose.

First: was a culture of the throat/tonsils performed?  Were the antibiotics based on culture results?  Are you penicillin allergic?  The dose and duration of the antibiotic is irrelevant until you can answer these questions of get the answer from the prescriber and if they say "for a viral tonsillitis/pharyngitis" throw out the antibiotics and find a new doctor/provider....or whatever we are....
